During horizontal directional drilling, the carrying capacity of the drilling fluid is one of its most important characteristics. BDC has developed a series of bentonite-based drilling fluids with high carrying capacity. The problem of many standard products is that the carrying capacity cannot be raised simply by adding more product. In the end, viscosity will be so high that it becomes difficult to pump and rinse the drilling fluid. This is why it’s important to use a product like Modiflux 230, where it remains easy to pump the drilling fluid when quantities are increased.
Thorough investigation and tests have led to MODIFLUX 230.
At high concentrations, the resulting drilling fluid has high viscosity and carrying power. Despite these qualities, it remains easy to pump the drilling fluid, because plastic viscosity (PV) remains low. When the drilling fluid is pumped through the nozzles, viscosity drops due to the sheer effect, and at the same time, the carrying power is significantly increased.
